The State Archives of Guelderland and the Municipal Archives of Arnhem, Rheden, Rozendaal and Renkum merged on June 1st 2002. The name of the new organisation: Gelders Archief (Archives of Guelderland).
The State Archives of Guelderland were founded in 1877. They keep records and other historical documents that mainly cover the territory of Guelderland. The Municipal Archives of Arnhem were founded in 1953. They cover records and other historical documents that mainly cover the city of Arnhem and its surroundings.
